TMT-related Measures during the COVID-19 Pandemic in Italy journal article Raffaele Giarda, Jacopo Liotta European Competition and Regulatory Law Review, Volume 4 (2020), Issue 3, Page 185 - 193 Italy has been the first Western country impacted by COVID-19 as it experienced a major spread of the disease starting from February 2020. Since the beginning, the Italian Government took immediate actions to fight the pandemic, including the imposition of social distancing and the lockdown of the vast majority of commercial and manufacturing activities. In addition to these generic measures, other Governmental agencies addressed specific actions towards players operating in the TMT sector (Technology, Media and Telecoms), aim at fostering electronic communications and ensuring certain essential services.
